Ever since he has rejoined the NXT Brand, Finn Balor has been a top star once again. With his new heel persona, he is speaking the truth and is cooler than ever, something which has made him a fan favorite once again. His main roster run has been fodder for him and his opponents, with Johnny Gargano saying he wanted to real Finn Balor, not the man who lost to Bobby Lashley for many weeks in their match. On this past weeks episode of NXT, part of it was dedicated to the story of Finn Balor, including some interview snippets from Balor himself.
Finn Balor Takes A Shot At Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal
While many fans would rather forget his time as champion, Jinder Mahal has etched his name in the annuls of history when he defeated Randy Orton to win the WWE Championship. Because of this, you would think WWE wouldn’t want superstars bad mouthing him so openly, but Balor did exactly that in this interview. When speaking on his run of the main roster, he pointed to people like Mahal, Lashley & Corbin saying that once they were matched up with him, they started to have the best matches of their careers. This could be just a way to play up Balor as an elite level performer, but he picked three men very commonly bashed for their apparent lack of skills.
Could Jinder Mahal Be Set For An NXT Return?
Bobby Lashley has a secure place on Monday Night RAW, and King Corbin rules over Smackdown Live, but Jinder Mahal is a man without a home in WWE. This is due to him being out for an injury, but is due to return very soon. With the stacked rosters of RAW & Smackdown, and the Singh Brothers now being a fixture of 205 Live which is aligned with NXT, it would be the most logical place for Mahal. There isn’t anyone like him on the NXT roster, and it could be a chance for him to show off his true in ring abilities once again. He previously called NXT his home early in his WWE run, where he was a finalist in the tournament to name the first NXT Champion.
