One of the more interesting characters in wrestling today is now a free agent. This is the Former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Su Yung. Her most recent run in Impact Wrestling saw her as a vengeful undead bride. She would be used to write people off TV, killing characters like Allie (now The Bunny in AEW) and James Mitchell on camera. Combine this with high level feuds with the likes of Rosemary, and it’s no shock that Su Yung had a great time in Impact Wrestling. However, her deal with Impact has expired, making her one of the hottest free agents on the market.
Su Yung Was Present At The Latest Impact Wrestling Tapings
Despite now being a free agent, Yung was around for the Impact Wrestling tapings in Atlanta. She has the option to sign anywhere that will have her, but that doesn’t mean she is set to leave Impact. They put a lot of effort into building her up as a star, and while her presence at the tapings could simply be to write her character off, they would be fools to not do whatever they can to keep her on their roster. She has become one of their best women’s performers, and Impact is on the rise again because they have been able to craft these interesting characters.
Will She Be AEW Bound?
With such a large part of the appeal of Su Yung being her character, we likely would see her explore options that would let her expand that character. WWE has proven to be a place where fun characters go to die, with examples being Broken Matt Hardy and the last crazy bride of Impact Wrestling, Laurel Van Ness (now Chelsea Green). AEW on the other hand has proven they are down to have these absurd characters, with one of their top women being an alien who crash landed in Long Island. They also have evil cults, dinosaurs, and two librarians. An undead bride would fit right in, and add even more character to their growing women’s division.
Do you hope to see Su Yung remain with Impact Wrestling, or would she be better off going to a place with fresh feuds and storylines available to her. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
