A few years ago, Cedric Alexander got his big break in wrestling. This moment came as part of the Cruiserweight Classic, where after an instant classic with Kota Ibushi, fans were loudly chanting ‘Please Sign Cedric’. His performance was enough to win over every fan in attendance, and WWE listened as his signing was announced shortly after. He found some success as part of the Cruiserweight Division which was formed soon after, even becoming Cruiserweight Champion.
Everything Went Wrong For Cedric Alexander After The Draft
Having done everything possible in the Cruiserweight division, it was time for Cedric to move on. He would join the Monday Night RAW roster as part of the WWE Draft in 2019. While things looked bright initially, with him getting a chance to become United States Champion and face AJ Styles, that simply ended as a series of crushing losses for Alexander. Those matches were what truly ended the Age Of Alexander, as since that point he has been as relevant as EC3. He shows up on WWE Main Event, trading wins with people like Eric Young, and only shows up on TV for quick matches like his 2 minute loss to Riddick Moss on RAW.
Time For A Change Of Scenery?
The biggest perk Cedric Alexander has in his favor is that his best years could still be ahead of him. At only 30 years old, if he is to leave WWE, he still has plenty of time to find his footing and become a star. One very likely destination for him to land would be All Elite Wrestling. His wife, known as Big Swole has been making waves in their womens division. She has not been quiet about wanting Alexander to jump ship and join her. While he might not become AEW Champion overnight, he would probably find himself in a better position than he is in WWE.
It’s unclear how long of a contract Cedric had with WWE, but if it is coming up soon, it would be a shock to see him resign. The wrestling world is on the brink of greatness again, and WWE is no longer the only game in town. There are more options than ever, and that benefits people like Cedric Alexander & EC3.
