Rumors are always flowing one way or another, and one of the more common ones with WrestleMania 36 right around the corner is that Seth Rollins’ faction is going to disband.
This could mean any number of things, from AOP (Authors of Pain – Akam and Rezar) going off on their own instead of remaining Rollin’s hired muscle, to Murphy taking over the reigns.
Another reason could be that their feud with Kevin Owens, the Viking Raiders, and Street Profits has become extremely boring. Rollins and his disciples nearly always win, so seeing “the Resistance” constantly being beaten down has been (pun intended) beaten to death.
It could also be used to build a new rivalry.

Street Profits and AOP
We’ve seen the Viking Raiders and AOP beat the tar out of each other enough that it’s not remotely enticing anymore, so they could be planning for the AOP to branch out on their own and target the Street Profits. The end goal would be the Raw Tag Team Championship, but a little mayhem and carnage along the way can be a good thing, too.
We love a good David versus Goliath story, and this would definitely be one of those. The thing is, will we be invested enough to care? Fans are notoriously meh as of late toward the tag team division, and for good reason. There simply haven’t been anyone for us to really gravitate towards. It’s not through lack of effort on the wrestlers and creative’s part. It’s just a connection we aren’t making for whatever reason
The Street Profits are definitely fan favorites, and there’s plenty of potential with them. The AOP are a different story since we haven’t been able to see them outside of Rollins’ calling, so there’s plenty of room to grow there as well. If this happens, it there is potential for something good. Who knows where it’ll go.
Seth Rollins wants time off
The most likely reason for this could simply be that Seth Rollins wants some time off.
A few months back, he mentioned wanting to take some time off after ‘Mania, and if the faction’s leader isn’t there, why would it continue? Of course, there’s the possibility Murphy would take it over. It’s hard to believe they’ll try to recreate the Nation of Domination, but anything is possible.
Beck Lynch also said she wanted some time off after ‘Mania, so we can expect her to drop the belt to Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania. But more than that, we could hear wedding bells in the air.
There have been several reports with different theories about what will happen, and whether or not they tie the knot, it’s good for them to get some time off and relax without the pressure and grind of WWE’s schedule looming over them.
While it feels like we’re losing out after two months of building up the Monday Night Messiah, keep in mind all the fuss over Erick Rowan’s spider ended with it being squashed. Hopefully, Rollins will return to this role when he comes back. He’s a far better heel than face, and he’ll be missed in that role if they try to change him back.
A soft reboot of the Monday Night Messiah angle would probably be better than going to something else or continuing this afterwards.
