Bray Wyatt Perfectly Rehabbed The Fiend At Wrestlemania 36

Bray Wyatt Perfectly Rehabbed The Fiend At Wrestlemania 36

If Bray Wyatt is good at anything in WWE, it is moving past losses. He has lost to many people over the years, with the latest being Goldberg; who took the Universal Championship from The Fiend. This was viewed by many fans as the death of that character, but those people were proven wrong at Wrestlemania 36. People figured that a match with John Cena would do wonders for an instant revitalization of The Fiend, but no one saw the Firefly Funhouse Match coming.

The Most Important Victory Of Bray Wyatt’s Career

While some would struggle to call the Firefly Funhouse Match an actual match, the one thing that is clear is the Bray Wyatt won, and in doing so redeemed the biggest loss of his career. At Wrestlemania 30, John Cena beat a red hot Bray Wyatt, in a match that many felt should have went any other way. Part of the Firefly Funhouse match was removing that loss from history, almost literally. By moving past that loss alone, the one Bray credits for creating The Fiend, it is the most important win of his career. Beyond that, this was a full showcase of the bizarre powerset that The Fiend has, especially on his home turf. It showed that while he lost to Goldberg, that loss is meaningless.

The Fiend Never Should Have Been Champion

It was nice to see this new character become popular enough to be pushed into a World Champion role, but it never should have happened. Putting a championship on someone who shouldn’t lose is never a smart move, and WWE put themselves in a corner with that. Someone had to beat him eventually once he became Universal Champion, which fans were never going to like. They either had to have someone beat him, or keep the belt on him until the gimmick got stale. It was a lose lose scenario. The Fiend was about collecting the debts from his past, as seen with Finn Balor, Kane, Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan. That should have remained the angle.

With this match having gotten Wyatt back on track, and the overwhelming positive reception, we should be seeing a lot more fun things from The Fiend in the coming next. Who will be let into the Firefly Funhouse next?  Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
