Impact Wrestling is one of the few wrestling shows available right now where you can tune in and see a live crowd. This is due to the taped nature of their show, with tapings dating back a few months at any given time. Already being familar with batch tapings, Impact Wrestling will be doing a batch very soon without a crowd to hold them over for several months.
Tommy Dreamer Confirms They Will Tape At Least Two Months Worth Of Shows
A safe bet would be to tape as much as possible, and with them only having their one show, they should be able to get another few months out of just a few days of taping. While some stars like Sami Callihan might refuse to compete, they will be able to assemble a roster to get a few great matches and some good angles to hold fans of their product over.
Rebellion Will Still Happen
The next Impact Wrestling PPV was set to be Rebellion, on April 19th. This show is still intended to happen, just in a modified form. They obviously won’t have a crowd and will be doing it in an empty arena. It will be retooled as a TV special, and likely to be done alongside the coming tapings. The card for Rebellion was stacked, with matches like Ken Shamrock vs. Sami Callihan, Tessa Blanchard defending the Impact Championship against Eddie Edwards & Michael Elgin, Ace Austin defending the X-Division Championship against Willie Mack, and more to be announced. It would have been a great show, and if they can get some of those matches to still happen, it will be something for fans to enjoy.
Impact Wrestling Has Been Paying Their Pay Per Appearance Talent Still
Revealed a few weeks back by one half of the Impact Tag Team Champions, Ethan Page, the talent of Impact got paid for the rest of March despite cancelled events. “Want everyone to know Impact Wrestling is paying the per-day talent for the cancelled events happening at the end of March. Just incase the sheets wants a heart warming story … instead of assuming the worst. Thanks Ed Nordholm and Scott D’Amore my family appreciate it.”
Impact should survive this, despite being a smaller promotion. They have survived too long for a pandemic to stop them. Have you been watching Impact Wrestling as of late? Let us know what you think of their product in the comment section down below.
