The NXT UK Championship is becoming one of the most prestigious is all of WWE. With only three champions it it’s history, and many iconic matches, it has become a hard prize to get your hands on. Tyler Bate was the initial champ, but Pete Dunne would take it from him and hold it for a record setting 685 days, and now WALTER is looking to beat that, as The Ring General has now been champion for 365 days.
WALTER Will Face Ilja Dragonauv Next
After a twenty man over the top rope Battle Royal on NXT UK, the next challenger for WALTER has been decided. The Mad Russian has been waging a war against Imperium for months now, and now will attempt to take the title from their leader in WALTER. WALTER has been a hard man to beat since becoming champion, having defeated Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, Joe Coffey and Dave Mastiff. Despite being two of the biggest names in the UK, this will be their first clash. Ilja has the intensity, but WALTER has crushed everyone who has stepped to him.
Who Knows When This Match Can Even Happen
While the first year of the reign of WALTER has been eventful, he might get a longer than expected reign due to global circumstances, as is the case with many champions around the world. With COVID-19 shutting down any type of non-essential event, and entire countries going on lockdown, it is hard to get matches done. NXT UK is a taped show, but they are starting to run out of content for the coming weeks, with next weeks episode being a clip show about the history of the brand. Takeover Dublin has been pushed back to August, and it is unlikely that WWE can even pull off a set of tapings for NXT UK from their Performance Center given the situation. Unless they already have a few more months of content in the bank, we might not be hearing much from this brand or it’s champion. But if Ilja Dragonauv vs. WALTER does happen in an empty arena, the strikes are going to sound like explosions.
Do you think Ilja Dragonauv will be the one to end the reign of WALTER when they finally meet? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
