One of the most successful callups from NXT in recent history has been Aleister Black. He has only been defeated four times since coming to RAW & Smackdown, with two of those being tag team matches, one being the 2020 Royal Rumble, and the other being to AJ Styles. The loss to AJ came after he had already beaten both Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows in a row, and he redeemed the loss at Elimination Chamber in a No DQ match. After another big win at Wrestlemania over the dominant Bobby Lashley, is Black close to being a contender for the WWE Champion?
Black Mass Is Undeniable
While Aleister Black as a whole is a deadly threat to anyone in WWE, his finisher is the biggest factor. It’s simple, quick, and he can hit anyone with it in an instant. The spinning kick known as Black Mass has a near 100% success rate at putting away any opponent, be that AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Erick Rowan, or Lars Sullivan. Big or small, powerhouse or high flyer, the Black Mass will knock you out and let Black get the pinfall.
17-2-0 in 2020
There is no one in WWE right now with a better win loss record than Aleister Black for 2020. With 17 wins and only two losses, he has a 89.5% win record this year. If you take the Royal Rumble out of the equation, that rises to 94.4%. While there are people like WWE Champion Drew McIntyre who are undefeated in 2020, that is only with 6 matches. Other undefeated stars include Becky Lynch, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, and Charlotte Flair, who have all only wrestled 5 or fewer matches. No one has wrestled as many singles matches as Black in 2020, with Angel Garza behind him with half the amount at 9. This puts him as a clear top contender in WWE at this point.
Aleister Black Would Be A Perfect First True Test For Drew McIntyre
While Drew has already notched his first successful defense of the WWE Championship in an extra match from Wrestlemania. He faced The Big Show, and was able to chop down the giant after withstanding Brock Lesnar 23 minutes earlier. This was never match he was going to lose, but a proper fight against Aleister Black would be a true test of the new WWE Champion.
With Money In The Bank close, and no one as worthy on Monday Night RAW as Aleister Black, he should get ready for the Dutch Destroyer next. Could Aleister Black become WWE Champion in 2020? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
