In WWE NXT, there is a brewing mystery. There have been two men that have gone missing from the roster. After losing to KUSHIDA, both Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde were abducted in the parking lot by mysterious masked men in the parking lot. There is a likely suspect in El Hijo Del Fantasma, but is that too obvious?
El Hijo Del Fantasma Was Nearly Abducted Himself
Following his debut match against Jack Gallagher for the NXT Interim Cruiserweight Championship tournament, El Hijo Del Fantasma was approached in the parking lot by the same men who grabbed Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde. He was able to easily fight them off and avoid capture. It was almost too easy in fact, like this was simply a red herring to distract from Fantasma being the mastermind. People were starting to wisen up to the possibility, but this will have people looking elsewhere. Fantasma was presented as a face during his match with Gallagher, but we could see his true nature coming soon if he begins to lose the tournament.
KUSHIDA Is Another Suspect
While the luchador masks initially told fans this was the doing of El Hijo Del Fantasma, there is another man who has a link to these kidnappings. Both Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde had lost matches to KUSHIDA before being taken, having been forced to submit and having only one good arm. However, Fantasma was targeted without losing to KUSHIDA. He might have been trying to remove a huge potential threat in the finals early.
One of the reasons KUSHIDA had left New Japan Pro Wrestling is that he was not being given the chance to work as a heel, being the top babyface of their Junior Heavyweight division. This would give him a great chance to show that he has potential outside of being a fan favorite. He also wanted to leave the Junior Heavyweight division, but finds himself stuck back in a similar position.
