WWE Monday Night Raw continues. Asuka will be celebrating her title win soon, but first, backstage, Bobby Lashley is being interviewed. MVP comes in to talk for him, says Lashley and himself have been talking man-to-man and they will not be doing business together because right now Bobby’s focused on clowns like R-Truth and his wife Lana. Lashley is not happy with that. MVP is pushing his buttons, asks what would happen if he put that Full Nelson on the WWE Champion? Says Lashley wouldn’t know since it’s been 13 years since he got the opportunity. Says maybe Lashley doesn’t need a trophy since he already has a trophy wife. Asks him when does Lashley want to be Lashley? Asks him to think about it.
And it’s now official, Edge vs. Randy Orton, THE GREATEST WRESTLING MATCH EVER, at Backlash. That’s basically it’s tagline. No pressure or anything, just trying to have a seven star empty arena match. We get a recap of last week’s 2-on-2 basketball game between the Viking Raiders and the Street Profits, in which the Raiders attempted a sharking scheme but didn’t reveal their skill until AFTER they already lost. This sets up this week’s axe throwing competition. This is being done in a grassy clearing looks like. Some sort of viking LARP is on-going with the Raiders leading on a bunch of extras in medieval gear. They have a gift for the Street Profits: the smoke! They literally have a campfire going with a lot of smoke. Montez advises Angelo to accept the gift being that they’re a bunch of vikings with axes. Ivar shows off an axe throw and nails a target with ease. Montez suggests they perhaps just give up but Dawkins seems confident.
We then cut to the ring to see Kairi Sane and a bunch of balloons, Kairi says it’s time for them to celebrate Asuka, Ms. Money In The Bank, her partner and friend, and the new champion! This of course brings out Asuka and immediately they’re both in faux tears. Kairi hands her a bouquet and Asuka thanks her. Says she’s so happy. She can’t believe it. Kairi says it’s all about her because she has been the NXT Women’s Champion, the SmackDown Women’s Champion, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion and now, Raw Women’s Champion. Kairi starts freaking out about how she’s a Grand Slam champion and this cues the weird little Asuka dance. Kairi is holding something… it’s a recorder. It’s meant to look like a flute but I know that sound anywhere, that’s a recorder. She starts playing the recorder until Nia Jax’s theme hits and she emerges to crash the party.
Nia says there’s nothing to celebrate, Becky handed her the title because she can’t fight anymore. Says Becky is on maternity leave which means Asuka lucked her way to the best temp job ever. Which means she’ll soon be replaced by someone far more worthy of that champion. Says look at her and look at Asuka. There’s only one way this will end and when she becomes Raw Women’s Champion, there will be a real party. Asuka attacks her and sends her to the floor with a charging Hip Attack. Nia leaves, her plan foiled.
