At the end of a long career as a professional wrestler, it can be nice to be recognized for your greatness. One way this can happen is through being inducted into a Hall Of Fame, with the most notable version of this being in WWE. Stars from all over wrestling are still being added to this group, with the most recently announced names including the nWo, Bastisa, Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger & The Bella Twins. However, one man seems destined to continue to watch from the sidelines as his friends get added, having watched Edge & The Dudley Boys get their time in the spotlight. This is Christian, someone who many fans view as an underappreciated talent in WWE.
With nearly 20 title reigns within WWE over his career, including 3 world title runs (one as ECW Champion and two as World Heavyweight Champion), his resume speaks for itself. While speaking on the The Wrestling Inc Daily podcast, he would talk about his thoughts on the WWE Hall Of Fame.
Christian Doesn’t Lose Sleep Over This
“I am in my own hall of fame, that’s all that matters. I don’t know. It’s funny as that’s literally the thing I get asked most when I do interviews or I meet people, especially around WrestleMania time. I’m legit flattered that people see me in that light and wanna see me in there. But it’s also not something I think about on a daily basis or something I lose sleep over. It’s not. So, this is not gonna be the last year of it. Next year won’t be the last year of it. 10 years from now won’t be the last year. So, it’s not something I lose sleep over and it is what it is. I do appreciate people seeing me in that kind of light.”
His loyal fan-base (known as his peeps) will continue to demand him to be honored year after year, especially once Matt & Jeff Hardy both likely make it in before him. It is more a matter of when, not if for Christian, who remains on good terms with WWE after his injuries forced him into retirement. Could you see Christian getting into the Hall Of Fame for his singles accolades, or will he go in alongside Edge as a tag team? Could he become a two time Hall Of Famer?
