AEW Dynamite continues. In a vignette, Pineapple Pete says tonight is the night for a fight. Suge D is a name he’s used for years but Jericho has no respect for that name, that’s why he’s called him Pineapple Pete. At first he was insulted. But ever since he called him Pete, life has been sweet! Music hits behind him and he has a pineapple with a straw in it. He said he showed him that he throws hands. He’s looking for the upset of a lifetime tonight. We also get it made official that at Double or Nothing, Hikaru Shida will be challenging Nyla Rose for the AEW Women’s World Championship. Now, out come Proud-N-Powerful – Santana & Ortiz – to face off with Kenny Omega and Matt Hardy!
But as Kenny emerges, Santana and Ortiz jump him on he ramp! They toss him into the ring and double team him, Matt’s not out here yet! Assisted Moonsault in the ring! Matt appears on the stage, Santana rushes in and attacks but Damascus fights back and pillars of fire appear on either side of him as he gets the advantage, biting the leg and tossing him across the stage! He’s got blood in his mouth now, seems to have busted his lip! He rushes into the ring and starts brawling with Otis! Santana rushes in and finally the bell rings.
Matt Hardy & Kenny Omega vs. Proud-N-Powerful
Matt dumps Santana to the floor. Kenny and Ortiz brawl in the ring. Santana sends Hardy right into the barrier! Kenny with elbows to the head of Ortiz, big knife edge chops, Ortiz charges but Kenny gets a boot up! Attempted hip tosses but they each block them, Ortiz with a back rake! Poke to the eye. Pulls him to the heel corner, tag to Ortiz, double whip but Kenny ducks it, dropkick to the both legs, there’s the Double Kitaro Crusher! Tag to Matt, double team, Kenny with the Poetry In Motion! Double boot to Ortiz, Tag Team Suplex! Matt with a Side Effect to Santana, hits the ropes for a leg drop for a 2 count.
Matt takes him to the Elite corner, Kenny tags in and drives Santana into a neutral corner, clobbers him. Whip to the opposite corner, charges, Santana with a back elbow. Charges, gets behind Kenny, Omega escapes and takes Ortiz off the apron but Santana clotheslines him to the floor! On the outside Ortiz yells at the camera before going for a shot, Kenny ducks the clothesline and nails him. But as the brawl continues Ortiz gets the advantage and sends him into the barrier, commercial break.
As we come back, Santana chops Kenny into the ropes. Boston Crab from Santana, tag to Ortiz and they double team him with a Boston Crab/Camel Clutch combo! They milk the count for all it’s worth before Santana breaks the hold. Ortiz with more back rakes, thumb to the eye. Grinds Kenny’s neck against the bottom rope. Kenny trying to fight back but Ortiz just stops him with yet another eye poke. Proud-N-Powerful double team him and work over the leg. Santana with an abdominal stretch cinched in. Santana and Ortiz with a Double Northern Lights Suplex for a nearfall! Ortiz gyrating mockingly before Kenny’s eyes.
Exchange of forearms, Kenny winning out! Ortiz with a chest rake, tiger claw pose, Kenny stops him with a Snap Dragon! Simultaneous tags, Matt takes over on Santana and slams him repeatedly into all three buckles! Charges, big clothesline into a bull dog but Santana shoves him away only to eat a big lariato! Ortiz rushes in but Matt dumps him, and there’s a wicked Side Effect to Santana for a nearfall! Matt traps Santana’s legs atop the middle rope for a big Reverse DDT for a nearfall! Now he goes to the middle rope for the elbow drop, starts the Delete Chant! Kick to the gut, wants the Twist of Fate, Ortiz rushes in to break that up though, Matt sent to the outside, Santana with a suicide dive! They want the Street Sweeper but Matt breaks it up, another Side Effect to Ortiz, Kenny with a crossbody off the top to the floor! Twist of Fate nailed, Ortiz has to break up the pin!
Kenny tags back in, brawl kicks up again, Matt gets posted on the outside, Kenny ducks an enziguri from Santana, looking for the Snap Dragon but it’s ducked, tries to throw Santana outside but Ortiz helps him rebound into a Cutter! Shotgun Dropkick from Ortiz sends Kenny into the corner, Santana with a cannonball for a nearfall! They look for the Street Sweeper again but Kenny avoids it, tag to Matt – he rushes in and hooks Santana in a bizzare submission hold, Butterfly Lock with a Bodyscissors, until Sammy Guevara comes out with a neck brace and a steel chair! He goes into the ring, Matt gets him with a Twist of Fate that spikes him onto his head! Matt takes Ortiz up top, Kenny with a V-Trigger, and Matt takes him off with a flying Twist of Fate and that’s that!
Winners: Matt Hardy & Kenny Omega
Wild stuff there, seems like we established a new finisher for Matt Hardy, after a sort. The Twist of Fate did probably need an upgrade.
