The WWE Money In The Bank 2020 Kickoff show is well under way and we now have our first match of the night, with Jeff Hardy taking on Cesaro.
Jeff Hardy vs. Cesaro
Jeff pushes Cesaro off but gets taken down with a shoulder block for a quick cover. Cesaro pulls Jeff up into a side headlock. Jeff wrestles out of it into a hammerlock but Cesaro swiftly reverses back into a headlock. Jeff reverses. Cesaro wants a back suplex but Jeff blocks it. Cesaro shoots him off but eats a shoulder tackle of his own. Jeff hits the ropes, Cesaro tries a hip toss but Jeff blocks, arm drag. Inverted Atomic Drop into a Full Nelson, transitioned nicely into a snapmare and then a Running Neck Snap! Jeff escapes to the floor, runs around the ring as Cesaro rolls out, tries to leap off the steps at Cesaro but he catches him out of the air and tosses him over the barricade!
Cesaro tries to get the countout win. Jeff rolls back in and now he’s working him over, choking him against the middle rope. Running senton slide against the rope! Cesaro to the middle rope, actually sidesteps across it, flying elbow to the back of the head for a 2 count! Forces Jeff’s own arm across his neck. Jeff fighting his way up but gets a knee to the face! Jeff reverses a whip into the corner, messy punch to the face, Dragon Whip takes Cesaro to the floor. Baseball slide nailed. Jeff pursues, Cesaro reverses a whip to send Hardy right into the apron! Loud impact on that one. Then he drives him into a second time, throws him into the ring.
Cesaro stalks up the steps, easily steps up onto the second rope for a leg drop, nearfall! Stomp to the ribs of Jeff for a Neck Snap of his own, nearfall. Cesaro with a charging European Uppercut, cinches in an Abdominal Stretch. Now he tears at the mesh shirt Jeff Hardy has on and smacks at his bare chest! Jeff reverses with a hip toss but then collapses, nicely sold there. Cesaro charges with a sliding forearm, pounds him into the mat! Gutwrench Suplex for a 2 count! Wears him down with a headlock, Jeff fights up into a Jawbreaker! Hardy still struggling to get to his feet though.
Blocks a punch, sends a few Cesaro’s way, gets whipped but takes Cesaro down with a clothesline, Inverted Atomic Drop into the Double Leg, Legal Low Blow, Basement Dropkick for a nearfall! Jeff with a kick to the gut, tries Twist of Fate but Cesaro shoves him to the corner. Jeff with a back elbow, wants a Whisper In The Wind but Cesaro stops that with a kick. Goes up there, grabbing him by the waist… no Jeff knocks him to the mat. There’s the Whisper In The Wind, it’s taken very awkwardly and now Cesaro is selling his knee. Still kicks out of the pin though. Cesaro with uppercuts, Hardy reverses with a backslide, Cesaro reverses… Jeff Hardy ducks a clothesline, there’s the Twist of Fate! Nearfall!
Hardy with the World’s Strongest Slam, then goes up top. Cesaro leaps up though, European Uppercut, pops up for a Gutwrench Superplex! Nearfall! Cesaro wants the Neutralizer, back body drop to counter but Cesaro lands on his feet, big lariato gets a nearfall for Cesaro! Jeff rolls out of the ring, Cesaro pursues, charging uppercut sends him flying into the barricade! Hardy reverses a whip and Cesaro’s injured knee flies into the steps! Jeff walks from I think a steel chair in the crowd to the barrier to leap into a clothesline! Throws Cesaro into the ring, up top for the Swanton Bomb and that is that.
Winner: Jeff Hardy
Very good stuff. Cesaro will always be great and no matter how bad a state Jeff gets into physically he will always try his damnedest.
