WWE Money In The Bank 2020 is soon at hand folks. We’ve got what promises to be an extremely weird show coming up this evening. We have two Money In The Bank Ladder matches tonight, which will supposedly be happening simultaneously – just one part of why they’re set to be the most unique versions of the match ever. The Men’s MITB lineup features Daniel Bryan, King Corbin, Otis, Aleister Black, Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles. Here at the Overtimer you can bet you’ll get the same in-depth coverage as always for the show this evening. That means a live recap and results of the show as they come, plus a preview of everything that’s on tap.
WWE Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Daniel Bryan vs. King Corbin vs. Otis vs. Aleister Black vs. Rey Mysterio vs. AJ Styles
I referred to the women’s MITB match as a tough one to call but this one is actually moreso to me. AJ Styles is a logical challenger for Drew McIntyre down the road but that’s just it, he already is the logical next heel after Rollins. He doesn’t need the briefcase to get there in the slightest, that should be a match built to rather than some threat of a milli-second victory. On the other side, I think ultimately we’ll be seeing the Fiend hold the Universal title again and keep it for most of 2020. He’s not really the guy a MITB contract winner would be able to miss with in the same way you’d usually see, the dynamic would be very different there. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it’d be unlike WWE to do a thing that’s different.
Although having said that, like I mentioned in the women’s MITB preview, they have shown that you can win the Royal Rumble and change brands, why not do the same with Money In The Bank? That means in theory someone like King Corbin could win and go after McIntyre… but I kinda wanna go out on a limb with this one. What if Aleister Black gets the win, hopefully gets his own personalized briefcase with a design that looks like a heavy metal album, and – once the Fiend gets the Universal title back – eventually makes the jump to try and be the one who destroys the demonic entity? Aleister vs. the Fiend just sounds like a feud they wouldn’t be able to resist going to eventually. I don’t know how likely this all really is but it’s probably the most interesting result I can get from this so I’m going with it. Aleister Black to win.
