AEW Dynamite is live once again here tonight! We’ve got plenty of fun stuff on tap for this evening, not least of which is MJF returning from ‘injury’! Everyone’s been tested and have come up negative which is of course awesome news in general and also means none of the advertised matches will have to change. Here at the Overtimer you can expect the same in-depth coverage as always, which means live recaps and results plus a preview of everything that’s on tap! Let’s get to it!
MJF Returning Tonight On AEW Dynamite
It’s been a long while since we’ve seen MJF live on TNT. This is actually the case for a lot of people, but with him in particular they’ve brought attention to it and made an angle out of it. For the past several weeks he’s talked about how he would love nothing more than to get on a plane in this climate and come to the ring to wrestle in front of six or seven of his peers for the entertainment of the fans he cares for so much. But you see, he’s come down with one tragic injury after another.
First a severe hangnail occurred, putting his finger in an oversized sling and of course putting him out of action. According to MJF it wasn’t just any hangnail but a life-threatening one. Seriously. But miraculously, he not only made a full recovery, but his doctors let him know that somehow he came away from it with the strongest finger on the planet. However as he was trying to prepare for his return, the truly unthinkable happened. He cut himself shaving, which he assures us was a gory wound and an injury that definitely justified the neck brace he was wearing under his scarf.
Now though we’re told that he’s finally making his way back to Dynamite in-person. While little is said about what he’ll be doing, I do have one guess. Before all this started, MJF was starting to make intimations about going after Jon Moxley’s AEW World Championship. Weeks away from Double or Nothing we still don’t know who will be going after the Big Platinum right now. No doubt the plans have largely gone awry for obvious reasons but if MJF and Moxley was the original direction for the show then we may well see that reaffirmed here this evening.
