The Undertaker Reveals Reason For Long WWE Entrances

It has been a running joke in recent years that when the Undertaker starts making his entrance, you have time to go make a full meal and be back by the time he hits the ring. He might have one of the awe-inspiring entrances in the game, but you cant help but notice how long they are. However, we now have insight on exactly why this is. To go along with the Last Ride mini-series that is being done about Undertaker, he has been doing more interviews than ever. This question was bound to be asked eventually, and now we know the true reason behind his long entrance habits.

Giving The Fans Something To Enjoy Before A Likely Bad Match

The Undertaker is a true legend in wrestling, but he was heavily dependent on having the right opponent. He was not a Bret Hart, Ric Flair, or Shawn Micheals who could have a great match with someone as long as they had  pulse. This is a short coming he realized, and his entrances play off this. With him able to captivate an arena just walking to the ring, he used this to great effect.

While speaking on the Pardon My Take podcast, he would say the following. “A lot of times that would just depend on my opponent, okay? Like, if I was working with somebody that was pretty limited or I thought I was gonna have just a real shitty match with, I was like, “Man, Imma get my money’s worth out of this entrance.” There were times I would take a little bit of extra time, ’cause I knew the match is gonna be horrible, so I figured I might as well give it to them on the entrance, ’cause they are gonna be disappointed when the bell rings.”

So the next time you’re watching back an Undertaker match, and he is taking a bit longer than you expect to make his way to the ring? There is a chance it is either Wrestlemania and the ramp is far too long, or he has very little faith in the man he is about to face in the ring. Do you still enjoy the entrance of The Undertaker? A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
