When it comes to factions within wrestling, The Four Horsemen might be the most iconic name of all. Many men have been under the banner, but the most iconic lineup was Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, & Ole Anderson. Two of these men have made their way to AEW as managers, with Blanchard aligned with Shawn Spears & Arn Anderson working with Cody Rhodes. Add in FTR into the mix, who are basically the modern example of Arn & Tully, and you have to wonder if AEW are adding a new faction to the mix.
Tully Blanchard Was Looking For The Perfect Partner For Spears, But Has Changed His Thought Process
In a video posted to the Twitter page of Shawn Spears, he would be blasted by Tully over his embarrassing performance at Double Or Nothing, and mention that the search for the perfect tag partner was a failure. This will not be his legacy of Tully, and if Spears wants a legacy of his own, he needs to reach down deep and find out how to win. Tully would speak on how when he would raise four fingers on national TV, it was because they were the best. If Spears doesn’t want to be the best, then Tully is gone, if he doesn’t make a change, he’ll never be a champion. It was an incredible promo from Tully, and Spears sat and took it. However, three men would reply to this. Firstly, Cody replied with four question marks. Cash Wheeler would reply with “My god. Watch this. Over and over. Then watch it some more. Tully is so good. Spears is so good. He just needs a little help..”. Dax Harwood would be the most on the nose with “Revelation 6:2 ‘I looked, and behold, a white house, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him; and he went out conquering and to conquest.’ How is this not on my national television screen? PASSIONATE. REAL!”
Cody Could Betray The Elite To Join The Four Horsemen
While FTR could easily align themselves with Spears and Tully, Cody already has a faction he’s linked too in AEW. That is The Elite, then men he built this company with. However, he hasn’t felt like a member lately, with the group feeling more like just Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks & Matt Hardy. Him turning on his old friends would make for a great angle, and opens up some great matches for AEW. Cody always worked better as a heel, and it could be time for that to come to AEW.
