CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers here with some new throwback spoilers to help keep things rolling along.
Coming to us from July 11, 1997, we get a fun little trip down memory lane with Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) and Olivia Winters (Tonya Lee Williams) are getting married, and Victoria Newman (Heather Tom) tries to break up Ryan McNeil (Scott Reeves) and Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) so she can have Ryan. Well, we guess what a Newman wants, a Newman goes after, right?
One thing that ins consistent on this show is few things interfere with a wedding. It’s part of their claim to fame like other shows like to mix in some disaster or other to spice things up.
Now that the stage is set, let’s get to the celebration.

Day of celebration
There’s something about weddings that makes the whole episode feel special. It’s like we’re there with the couple partaking in the festivities, and it helps draw us further into the episodes.
All of Malcolm and Olivia’s friends and family show up bit by bit, ready to partake in the celebration and expansion of the Winters family. It’s a chance for us to see some of our favorites from past years once more as they attend. It’s a cool setting and moment for one of Genoa City’s the most influential families. This beautiful moment is able to match up with any in the Y&R library and is memorable for the right reasons.
Victoria’s war
Never one to not go for what she wants, Victoria has her sights set on Ryan, who is in a relationship with Nina. Now, the responsible thing to do would be to accept it and move on; maybe she’s get a chance another time. Of course, this is daytime television so there’s little to no way that’s going to happen.
Victoria shows she’s a good Newman by stirring some stuff up between Ryan and Nina so she can slip in between them and take what she wants. As is often the case, she’ll win. It’s in the Newman genes and she’s too much like her father to lose.
With moments like these teasing us, maybe the powers-that-be are paying attention and will try to come up with some way to start a channel or streaming service with all the soap operas, new and old, and all the older episodes so we can enjoy our favorites at our leisure.
That’s something CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers have mentioned on several occasions, but there’s more. Given how we’ve seen storyline after storyline in bits and pieces, drawing us in to leave us without know what happened, has been the huge failure of these theme weeks.
