CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers here with another fun throwback spoiler focused on parents doing their best to interfere and protect their adult children from making what they view as huge mistakes. Sounds like it could be the description of just about any show, doesn’t it?
In this case, Mary Williams (Carolyn Conwell), Paul Williams (Doug Davidson)’s mother, drops in on Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell)’s bridal shower for some fun and games, or in CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers’ opinion, to make her opinions known.
When we look at it, it’s amazing how parents just have a knack for when to show up, say, or do something that’s borderline insane and pushes their kids’ buttons. We’ve all experienced it at some point, and it’s not always pleasant.
Still, it’s the thought that counts, right?
Anyway, coming to us all the way from December 14, 1994 is an episode CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers haven’t seen yet, but it looks like a fun on.
It’s a mom thing
We all know that Mary isn’t one to mince words, and has been more ruthless than kind when it came to the well being of her children. She’s never hesitated to interject herself between any family member and their significant others, especially Paul.
It’s mainly because of her over-bearing mothering that he rebelled and jumped from woman to woman, making him an ideal fit in Genoa City.
Still, this could be one of those rare moments where she’s happy and supportive of her family. It does happen occasionally, right?
Speaking of mom things…
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) had concerns about her son, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). He was an adult, so there wasn’t much she could do, but she has her ways. In this case, her problem happens to be Nick’s growing desire to be with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). It’s the natural continuation of Sharon doing everything she could to get his attention, and not that he’s hooked, she just has to reel him in.
Of course, it doesn’t help that Sharon and Nikki never got along and this could just be another way for her to push Nikki closer to the edge of her sanity. Given that Sharon develops a taste for Newman men, it does raise some interesting questions about what she’s really after, but given how her and Nick have remained close, CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers feel this is more Nikki being a protective parent. Nothing wrong with that.
