Another episode of AEW Dynamite is on tap for this evening! It’s a show with a ton of focus on tag team action and for my money, this is the biggest one. We have a bit of a Semi-Final situation for the big tag title match at Fyter Fest. Both the champions and the challengers are putting their spots on the line in the same night! The Best Friends, Chuck Taylor and Trent, are taking a big risk and putting their title shot on the line against Le Sex Gods, Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara! You can expect the same coverage of tonight’s show as always and since I’m getting to it early enough this go ’round, that includes previews of all the biggest matches! Let’s get to it!
Tag Title Match On The Line: The Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent) vs. Le Sex Gods (Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara)
Last week, we saw a pretty shocking incident all things considered when, after getting one over the Inner Circle in a trios match, the Best Friends were attacked afterwards. Most notably, the popular memelord of the group Orange Cassidy was targeted by Chris Jericho, who bloodied him with a baseball bat and then beat him quite savagely with a sack of Blood Oranges. The loyal Best Friends were not going to take that lying down and so they wanted revenge. But Jericho wasn’t willing to let them have their match for free, forcing them put their Fyter Fest tag title shot on the line.
Jericho and Guevara have teamed together successfully several times in the past, including having a win over Omega and Page under their belts, one the champs have yet to avenge. So it actually makes them very believable challengers, and of course anytime Jericho is in the mix it’s hard to bet against him. But I actually don’t see Le Sex Gods getting the win tonight. It’s just been pretty clear that the Best Friends have been on that path to a tag title match for quite a number of months now and I expect they’ll get their shot at Fyter Fest. Moreover, I genuinely expect we will see a surreal singles match between Jericho and Orange Cassidy at Fyter instead. Don’t be surprised if Orange helps his buddies to a victory here.
