It’s been a few day since our last update on the Matt Riddle accusations, and for his part things haven’t changed. He said he would let his lawyer do his thing, and the WWE is reportedly also lawyering up. What has changed is his accuser has reportedly faced an enormous amount of backlash from his fans and many wrestling fans in general. This has caused a friend of hers, and someone who also knows Riddle well to come forward to help defend her.
“Candy’s not a stalker” – This has been what fellow wrestler, Jamie Senegal, has been saying and offering various tests and messages with Riddle, as well as explaining things as she knew them. She responded to people’s questions and has continued to stand her ground. She has explained how she had fallen for his tricks despite knowing he was what he was. It’s something that happens to a lot of us, and there’s no one that’s above having a moment like that. More than herself, she pointed out how Candy continued to contact him after Riddle’s wife blocked her number after he came clean. She explained this with the fact that Candy fell in love with him and it helped lead to where they are now.

Again, this is something we’re all guilty of at some point. We’re all human, and we make mistakes when it comes to matters of the heart. Sometimes it works out and we can get away from toxic people, but unfortunately, there are times when we can’t. Sometimes we need a friend to help us, and this is a perfect example. In September 2019, Candy and Jamie did a photo shoot labeled their “Resting Piece.” Jamie shared screencaps of the pictures they took to show they were over him and moving on.
It’s great they have each other to lean on during such a dark time. As I’ve said previously, every victim should be believed, meaning their accusations should be taken seriously so a thorough investigation can take place and justice can be sought. Expressing opinions can be dangerous This is where things can get ugly. We’ve all seen the power of social media and how easy a mob can be gathered for one purpose or another. When it comes to famous people that we may regard as our heroes, many will fight to the point of being human shields for them. While we’re all entitled to our opinions, it’s important to note that they are just that: opinions.
It’s often better that we allow others to explain themselves and leave it at that instead of pursuing the possibility they may be in error or lying. Just because we disagree doesn’t mean we have to go to war with someone we never met over someone else we never met. This can be said of friends, too, but we expect friends to be at our side during troubling times. They’ll generally defend us as hard as they can, but they know us. They have more intimate knowledge of us and our problems than outsiders, hence their words can often be telling. Matt Riddle may be guilty of the accusations levied against him. He may also be innocent. It does appear that he may have engaged in questionable behavior. Maybe it’s time we allow people to share their thoughts and opinions without fear of judgement, and allow them the space they need as well as their accounts to be investigated.
