What Will Become Of Adam Cole After He Loses NXT Championship?

Adam Cole has been a great NXT Champion, perhaps the greatest we have ever seen. It’s been the longest reign, he’s had classics with the likes of Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne and even Daniel Bryan over the year long reign. However, all good things must come to an end eventually. With Karrion Kross breathing down his neck to be next at the championship? It’s realistic to think that we will be seeing that match very soon, with Cole being his next victim, and left staring up at the lights. Even if this doesn’t happen, Cole will be losing the NXT Championship eventually. With 18 months left on his contract, what will come next after this?

What Should Become Of Undisputed Era?

Since they came to NXT, Adam Cole has been the leader of Undisputed Era. The unit of Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong have been instrumental in ensuring Cole would become and retain the NXT Championship. At one point, they held all the gold in NXT when they helped Roderick Strong defeat Velveteen Dream for the NXT North American Championship, while Fish & O’Reilly were Tag Team Champions and Cole was NXT Champion. They have defined themself as the best faction in NXT history. But would this work the same on RAW & Smackdown? We could see them make their way there as a unit and capture all championships on a brand. It would make sense for them to target Drew McIntyre on Monday Night RAW to start, as that is also how they debutted in NXT. Cole would make a good challenger for Drew, despite his lack of size.

The lack of size is what will hold them back. While they are all incredible wrestlers with loads of charisma, all of Undisputed Era are the size of Cruiserweights, something which will quickly become obvious if they leave NXT. Vince McMahon has been known to focus on the biggest men on the roster, which could become an issue for them.

Adam Cole Going Solo For The First Time In Years

For years now, Adam Cole has always had backup. From The Kingdom, to Bullet Club, to Undisputed Era, Cole has only went short periods in major companies without people helping him in his matches. We could see this happen if he leaves NXT. Send him up to RAW or Smackdown alone, while Undisputed Era finds a new leader in NXT, with someone like Roderick Strong stepping up to take control. A power struggle storyline alone would be a breath of fresh air for this tired faction.

This would give Cole a chance to work as a face on the main roster or NXT, as fans absolutely love him. The Undisputed Era is a heel faction at the end of the day, but if you let Cole just go be a fantastic but cocky wrestler, he’d be a fan favorite anyhere he goes. You put Strong, Fish & O’Reilly against Cole after years of them helping him? It would certainly change the tone of Cole very fast.

It will still be months off until Cole loses the NXT Championship, with this moment likely being saved for a crowd. What do you think will happen to Adam Cole after he loses the NXT Championship? Let us know in the comment section down below.
