It isn’t every day that you can say that we get a WrestleMania rematch on Main Event, WWE’s lowest tiered show. But this week, that’s exactly the case. Granted, it was a rematch from the preshow of WrestleMania 36 and it’s the same venue, but that still counts as a WrestleMania rematch. The veteran Natalya would face off with the upstart Liv Morgan, and look to avenge her loss.
Liv Morgan Mocks The Veteran
They would lock up quick with Natalya getting a headlock takedown, Liv countered into a headscissors only for Natalya to get back up with ease. Liv was able to do the same thing moments later, proving Natalya wasn’t alone in having technical abilities. Liv would go for a wrist lock, but Natalya would slip out with ease again and go for a roll up.
Somewhere during this exchange, Liv would call Natalya ‘Mom’ and get called out for it. This seems to sum up their dynamic quite well.
Liv would be thrown into to the ropes, Natalya would lay down for a trip but Liv had this scouted and would lay down in front of her to mock her. She would mimic both her movements and trash talking down to the last motion, until Natalya turned, prompting Liv to do the same before kicking her directly in the ass. Ouch.
Natalya Takes Control But Slips Up
Liv would counter an irish whip into the corner, only to be met with a dodge into a rope assisted atomic drop, followed by Natalya stomping her head and hitting a low dropkick. Natalya would look for the sharpshooter but Liv would fight out and hit a middle rope dropkick. Natalya would get control again countering a hurricarana into a powerbomb for a near fall.
Slamming Liv’s face into the mat, Natalya would go for a surfboard, stretching all of Liv’s limbs to their limits. Liv would nearly get the win as her shoulders hit the mat for two seconds. Once free, Liv would fire back with some clotheslines into a bulldog, finishing with a shining wizard. Getting Natalya in the corner, she’d hit a double stomp to the back for a near fall. Liv would look for her finisher but be countered. They would trade rollups, getting many two counts along the way. Natalya would look for the sharpshooter again, but the crafty counter would give Liv a pinning predicament for the win.
This was a great back and forth match that showed just how good Liv has gotten. Will she be looking at championship matches by this time next year? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
