In his first match since taking Finn Balor to the limit at NXT Takeover: In Your House, Damien Priest is back in action. He will lock up with fellow powerhouse, and former NXT Tag Team Champion, Killian Dain. Dain is just one big win away from being a star in NXT, and this could be that win. Will Priest lose to another vicious Irishman, or will we see Priest get back on track?
Fast Paced Heavyweight Action
These two heavyweights would lock up and struggle for control, with Dain eventully getting a headlock. Priest would shove him off, and eat a big shoulder tackle. His back would be bothering him, and Dain took advantage of this when he’d dropkick him into the corner. A bellclap chop and a kick from Priest would give control back to him briefly, but the bad back would come into play when Dain would rain forearms down on him before hitting a guilotine leg drop off the middle rope.
More shots to the back on the ground would punish Priest, which would try to fight back before being hit with a headbutt and a series of backdrops. Finally he’d be hit with a facebuster, getting Dain a two count. Another backdrop would be attempted, but Priest would shift his weight and crash down onto Dain. Dain would rush into the corner and miss Priest. With Priest having a chance to match his breath, a strike fest would occur in the middle of the ring, with Priest getting the advantage with a lariat, laying Dain out.
Damien Priest Gets A Much Needed Win
A springboard forearm out of the corner would get Priest a two count, and he’d follow this up by flying into the corner with back elbows. After two successful elbows, Dain would cut him him down with a crossbody. Dain would look to follow up with the Electric Chair Driver, only for Priest to roll into a pinfall attempt. He’d get a two count, but quickly catch Dain with the Reckoning for the win.
This is a great way to get things started once again for Priest, who was the star of Takeover: In Your House even in defeat. Will he once again take aim at the NXT North American Championship, or aim higher for Adam Cole? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
