Two weeks ago, Robert Stone tried to recruit Rhea Ripley to his brand. She responded by throwing him directly into the trash can. Now that he has a new client in Aliyah, he would try again to recruit her again. He didn’t check for trash cans nearby, and suffered the same fate. This time, we’d see Aliyah stand up for him, and get into a match with the former NXT Women’s Champion. Would having a more groomed Robert Stone at ringside help Aliyah get a huge upset?
Rhea Ripley Came To Play
As soon as the bell would ring, Aliyah would run to the ropes before being pulled away by Ripley. The powerhouse would just rag doll Aliyah around the ring, before hitting a Minoru Suzuki like running dropkick, sending her to the outside. On the apron, Aliyah would snap the throat of Ripley over the top rope and go for a crossbody off the top rope, only to be caught. Aliyah would slip out, and hit a knee to the stomach.
Ripley would come back with a series of lariats, followed by some knees to the face. She’d look to follow up with a leg submission, but be kicked off by Aliyah. A boot to the face would drop Aliyah, and she’d be locked in the Prism Lock. Robert Stone would throw a shoe at Ripley, causing Aliyah to be freed from the hold. Ripley would chase Stone around the ring, and Aliyah would try to get a rollup in this chaos, but get hit with the Riptide instead. This was a fun match, and the duo of Aliyah & Stone have proven to be comedy gold.
It’ll Be A Short Road Back To The Top
While Dakota Kai has claimed the next shot at the NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai, it’s only a matter of time before we see Ripley get another shot to regain the title she lost at Wrestlemania. Dominant wins will get her back in the conversation, and fans are wanting to see a match between Shirai and Ripley that doesn’t end with Charlotte Flair attacking both. Is Ripley deserving of a title shot yet, or is more time needed? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
