WWE SmackDown Results (6/19/2020)

Another Friday night brings another episode of SmackDown. Below you’ll be able to see the live results of the show plus links to in-depth recaps of each segment. Watch this space for the WWE SmackDown Results.

Segment 1: The show opened with AJ Styles’ Intercontinental Championship celebration. This largely consisted of him badgering Daniel Bryan and forcing him to put the title around his waist. Daniel reminded us that Drew Gulak pinned AJ Styles a couple of weeks ago and should get a title shot but AJ blows this off. Matt Riddle than made his first SmackDown appearance and confronted AJ. A fight broke out and Riddle drove him off, causing AJ to call for a referee to come to the ring.

Segment 2: Matt Riddle and AJ Styles thusly faced off an impromptu match. As one would expect it was a strong one. During the match, Riddle teased a feud with King Corbin who was at ringside. In the end, AJ went for the Phenomenal Forearm only for Riddle to counter with the Bro Derek for the upset victory.

Segment 3: Jeff Hardy has a sit-down interview talking about his issues with addiction and with Sheamus. Backstage Mojo Rawley stands behind Shorty G thinking he doesn’t know he’s there, trying to mock him as he cuts a promo only for Shorty to nail him with a right hand as he turns around.

Segment 4: Shorty G defeated Mojo Rawley in a pretty quick match. Miz and Morrison host another episode of MizTV with Mandy Rose as their guest. Of course this is a trap and they bring out Sonya Deville to mess with her. The two argue and then brawl with Mandy winning out and sending her packing.

Segment 5: Bayley and Sasha Banks are on commentary for a non-title match between The New Day and Lucha House Party. New Day got the win but afterwards they were attacked by Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro.

Segment 6: The women’s division is conversing over who will go after Sasha Banks and Bayley when they notice Nikki Cross is gone. Sheamus says he IS a bully but Jeff Hardy deserves to be bullied, but he’ll be giving him a toast next week. Nikki Cross attacks Sasha Banks and Bayley at ringside and demands an impromptu match. Sasha then defeated her with a Meteora.

Segment 7: We see a Firefly Funhouse segment where Bray casually talks about resurrecting the dead and his loss to Braun Strowman. Braun interrupts to say the story between them is over. Bray’s accent changes as he explains that he wasn’t kidding about resurrecting the dead. He then transforms to his Wyatt Family persona and tells Strowman to Follow The Buzzards.
