Keith Lee is now etched into the history of NXT, as the first man to hold mulitple titles on their roster. He was already NXT North American Champion, but after besting Adam Cole on this past weeks episode of NXT in an epic match? He has that title too. Adam Cole & Johnny Gargano both held these titles at some point, but never together. Lee only needs the Tag Team Championships for the Triple Crown.
He’s gotten praise from all levels of WWE, but one man who praised him is someone who respects him deeply. They’ve only clashed once in WWE, and it was at Survivor Series 2019. The finish of the Mens 5 vs. 5 vs. 5 match saw Roman Reigns & Keith Lee have a fantastic sprint, with Lee nearly putting Reigns down with a huge Spirit Bomb before falling to a Spear.
Keith Lee Feels Roman Reigns Helped Him Raise Him Up
In something no one can possibly deny, the mini-match with Reigns made Lee look like one of the biggest stars in NXT history. While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Lee would have the following to say about Reigns.
“Roman doesn’t get enough credit for what he means to this sport,” said Lee. “And he went above-and-beyond to make that moment. The simple gesture of our fist bump, he turned that into magic. That was the start of something very special for me. He is such a superstar that he made that moment overshadow everything else that happened in that match, and I won’t forget it.”
Following the match, he would tell Lee “I want a one-on-one match with you”, and that has not changed.
Roman Reigns Still Wants The Match
When you can give someone like Roman Reigns that much of a fight? He’s gonna be interested in going again, and he’s willing to wait for it.
“Congrats on one hell of a journey Keith Lee. Still a ton of work to do, which I know you already know. Keep killin it and representing. I definitely still want that one on one, Champ!”
This could be a future Wrestlemania main event given the star power of both men. It’s a future WWE or Universal Championship match, and when it happens, people are going to love it.
Given that this match is probably atleast two or three years away, who do you think will win the eventual clash? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
