Much like Shayna Baszler, it has been a while since we’ve seen former 24/7 Champion Riddick Moss in action. However, unlike Baszler, there weren’t too many concerns on where he was. For the few who missed him, he’s back in action against one of the best young high fliers in WWE with Humberto Carrillo. Would power beat speed?
Humberto Carrillo Is Stopped At Every Turn
As the match began, Carrillo applied a headlock, and was shoved off with ease. He’d try for a wrist lock, but be too strong to be held. However, when Moss tried for a snapmare, Carrillo would flip out in athletic fashion. They’d run the ropes, but as Carrillo tried for an arm drag, Moss instead would just run through him with a shoulder block. Carrillo would use the ropes to get the wrist lock, but be thrown down to the mat. He’d bounce back up with some strikes, but try to whip Ross across the ring and fail.
Instead he’d finally hit the arm drag and a dropkick. Sending Moss to the outside, he’d try to dive onto him, instead going for a baseball slide. This would miss, but Carrillo would jump up to the arpon for a dive. He’d be caught and slammed into the post. Back in the ring, Carrillo would be bent over the knee before being thrown down. He’d get back up, try to handspring into a kick, before being caught by Moss and slammed into the mat.
Riddick Moss Sends A Statement
Riddick Moss could have won this match by this point, but instead keep trying to punish Carrillo. This would almost cost him as there is never any quit in Carrillo. Ross would be dropped with a springboard kick, and the speed would become overwhelming, as he’d be hit with a missile dropkick from the heavens. A moonsault would be met with boots to the face. Moss would realize he needed to put this one away, and he’d hit a huge neckbreaker for the win.
It’s clear that WWE has high hopes for someone like Riddick Moss. He’s a great athlete, has a nice look, and this proved he can have a good match. Are there big things in the future of Moss?
