This special episode of Dynamite is getting off to a fast start with what should be an excellent tag team contest. In one corner, we have the hard hitting brawlers of FTR who now have Tully Blanchard in their corner, in the other the high flying Private Party. It will be a clash of styles in the best possible way, and both teams always deliver. Who would get the win and climb the rankings?
AEW Provides Instant Action
As the show started, both teams were already in the ring and eager to get this match started. Cash Wheeler would start with Marq Quen, with Harwood tagging in soon after. Tully at ringside barking orders has FTR more focused than ever, and Harwood would do his best to stay in control, but Marq Quen is damn fast and hard to keep up with. Kassidy would join his partner as Wheeler came in and both hit a dropkick.
Wheeler would distract the referee while Harwood attacked the eyes of Quen, but Kassidy wouldn’t be far from being in the match. Their tag team stylings would involve rapid tags as they isolated Harwood and beat him down. Tully would give some advice, and FTR would work together and take Quen out with a double lariat.
Quen would now be the isolated one, and FTR was really heeling it up in this one, constantly attacking behind the referees back, the influence of Tully being clear. Harwood would drag the face of Quen across the ropes, then drive the point of the elbow into the face. The second they got control, you could feel the change of energy in the arena.
Kassidy would do his best to try to motivate his partner, and Quen would be finger tips away from the tag at times. He’d counter a scoop slam, but Harwood would manage to tag in Wheeler, and they’d hit a sunset flip/lariat combo, forcing Kassidy to save his partner. A rear chinlock in the middle of the ring would grind Quen down, but he’d counter into a back suplex.
FTR Takes Full Control
Harwood tagged in Wheeler who cut the ring off once again, Quen still not being able to complete the tag. One last burst of energy would finally see Kassidy make it into the match like a house of fire, taking both members of FTR down with lariats.
He’d hit a springboard stunner on Wheeler to take him out, before hitting one on Harwood for a near fall. Harwood would think he had Kassidy rolled up for the win, but a blind tag to Quen would see him take a springboard crossbody instead. Wheeler would take Kassidy off the apron, leaving Quen to fight this one on his own, and he’d nearly take it with a small package.
A blind tag to Wheeler would see them have Quen run into a huge spinebuster, forcing Kassidy to make the save. Kassidy would be goaded into diving to the outside on Harwood, with Tully pulling him out of the ring. Quen would be hit with the Goodnight Express, and that makes a sixth tag team win in AEW for FTR.
