AJ Styles has settled into WWE better than anyone could have ever imagined. Once the face of Impact Wrestling, a WWE run seemed impossible. Now he’s a two time WWE Champion, and has also held the United States Championship on a few occasions. His hard work and excellent matches made him a favorite of even Vince McMahon, setting him up for big things.
Styles is currently on Smackdown Live, following a run on Monday Night RAW alongside two of his best friends in wrestling, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. They were released shortly after playing a role in the Boneyard Match at Wrestlemania, and have since made their way to Impact Wrestling, where they text Styles and try to tempt him to return. Despite them being gone, Styles still has some great friends in WWE to keep him grounded.
AJ Styles Reveals Who His Best Friends Left In WWE Are
During a recent Twitch Stream, Styles would take questions from his fans like usual. One that popped up was who are his closest friends on the WWE roster, and Styles would pick one from RAW and another from Smackdown.
“I think that out of everyone – he’s on the injured list right now, but still, probably the guy I’ve known the longest is Xavier Woods/Austin Creed. I’m trying to think who else would be in there. Like, Samoa Joe would be my closest on RAW.”
These picks make sense, seeing as they were both men Styles worked with during his time in Impact Wrestling. While Samoa Joe is another of the biggest stars in Impact Wrestling history, many forget that Xavier Woods had a run there as Consequences Creed before signing with WWE.
Styles has appeared on Up Up Down Down with Creed in the past, sharing an avid love of video games. If he was not still out with an injury, we likely would have had him challenge Styles for the Intercontinental Championship during his reign, but the timing simply isn’t right.
In a business like professional wrestling, having friends makes life a lot easier. Styles is by all accounts a great guy to be around, so these are likely not the only friends he has backstage. Would you like to see him have some matches with Xavier Woods given their closeness backstage? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
