Two weeks back, on the build to Adam Cole vs. Pat McAfee, Undisputed Era would shut down a match between Drake Maverick & Killian Dain. Maverick looks to get revenge for this now, as he gets Kyle O’Reilly in a singles match. We rarely get to see O’Reilly in a singles environment, who is the tag team expert being Undisputed Era, but is no slouch on his own. Who would win?
Kyle O’Reilly Shuts Drake Maverick Up
Always aggressive for an underdog, Maverick would get this match started fast, throwing hands with O’Reilly and tripping him up with a low dropkick, sending him outside. Maverick would dive off the top rope and take out most of Undisputed Era at ringside, with O’Reilly avoiding this. He’d get back in the ring and be ready to take control of Maverick. This wouldn’t work as he’d be hit with a clothesline, bulldog and a senton to the back.
One knee strike would stagger Maverick whoever, who had a clear striking advantage in this match. O’Reilly would look for some limb targeting, going after the knee. Maverick would fail to get the Dudley Dog in the corner, and be trapped in a knee bar. He’d nearly escape, but when the other leg would be trapped? There would be two choices; tap or snap. Maverick chose to tap.
Killian Dain Makes The Save
After the match, the beatdown would continue, with Undisputed Era grabbing a steel chair. Before this could happen, Killian Dain would rush the ring and clean house. Maverick wasn’t the only man beat down by Undisputed Era two weeks ago, they took Dain out as well, and he’s not known to drop grudges.
After running off Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong, Dain would stare down Maverick, intentions unclear. Maverick would think he had an ally, a partner to rely on. Instead, he’d be hit with a lariat, showing that Dain doesn’t want friends right now.
