We haven’t seen Tommaso Ciampa since he got absolutely torn apart by Karrion Kross at NXT Takeover: In Your House, but tonight the Blackheart is back in action. After suffering the most one sided defeat he’s faced in years, Ciampa will need to work hard to get back into the mix. He’s come back from potentially career ending injuries however, so this is nothing new for him.
He’d make his return against Jake Atlas, an up and coming talent. Does he still have what it takes to be a winner?
Tommaso Ciampa Hasn’t Missed A Beat
Ciampa would be focused on this match as it starts, staring a hole through Atlas. He’d force his opponent into the corner and chop him silly. Atlas would shove him off, and just get beat down with a headbutt and a frenzy of stomps. Willows Bell would be hit very early, and this match was over.
Clearly, the hard loss to Kross hasn’t affected Ciampa in a negative way, he’s more aggressive than ever. After the match, he’d continue to beat Atlas down on the outside, referees having to pull him off. Ciampa would almost look remorseful, before running in for another stomp, and then whipping Atlas into the ring supports before sitting on the apron and watching Atlas get stretched out.
Once Atlas would be set up on the stretcher, Ciampa would hit another DDT, this time off the stretcher to the floor before finally going to the back.
The Psycho Killer Is Back
The Psycho Killer who was NXT Champion, a man who was never beaten for his championship is back. He was playing to the crowd too much after he came back from his injury. Where did that take him? He lost his title match to Adam Cole, lost the final clash with Johnny Gargano, and got demolished by Karrion Kross.
Being nice doesn’t work for Ciampa, so he’s going back to what works. This is bad news for the NXT locker room, and Jake Atlas was on the first victim. Who do you think will fall to Ciampa yet?
