Big E has had a good and highly entertaining run thus far as a singles competitor, and it’s going to go to the next level on tonight’s WWE Smackdown.
Big E has gone through both the Miz and John Morrison in recent weeks, as well as picking a fight or two with Retribution, which the Miz is possibly the leader of.
And it looks like things aren’t going to settle down anytime soon as the Miz and Big E got into a heated discussion about Big E’s fellow New Day teammate, Kofi Kingston, on WWE Network’s “Talking Smack.”
Trouble ahead
Big E is a good friend and even better teammate as he had Kingston’s back throughout his exchange with the Miz.
So, to further escalate, er, we mean calm things, Big E’s going to appear on Miz TV to continue their discussion.
Of course, the Miz will do everything he can to infuriate Big E. It’s nothing usual as it’s what Miz does best as a heel.
We think this will lead to an altercation and another possible Retribution attack.
We doubt it’ll be the latter, at least not until Big E is backstage or in a match with the Miz or someone else later in the night.
Believe it or not, there is a method to our madness and why we think this, and we’ll have more on that below.
What this segment will provide is a way for Miz and Big E to agree to a match at Payback.
Match at Payback
While a match on WWE Smackdown is definitely be a possibility, it’s more likely to be at the Payback pay-per-view this Sunday.
It makes sense for a couple of reasons. The first being with only two shows between SummerSlam and Payback (previously reported to be Evolution 2), there simply isn’t time to develop new storylines.
We don’t think it’ll end there, as this is a safe feud; meaning that if Big E isn’t a hit, he and Kingston can feud with Miz and Morrison when Kingston returns.
Honestly, this gives more credence to the belief that the Miz is Retribution’s leader, as it’ll pit Big E and the New Day against them down the road.
This feels like the best way for the WWE to go since Big E has a huge X on him after calling our Retribution a couple of weeks ago.
This is assuming that Miz is their leader or he’ll be implicated as such.
We’re still positive it’s either him or Sheamus that re behind Retribution, and we will say it’s going to be disappointing if Roman Reigns ends up being their leader.
What do you think will happen between the Miz and Big E tonight? We’d love to hear your thoughts, so let us know in the comments below.
