The final New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) event in Japan before G1 Climax 30 commences on September 19th takes place in several hours on New Japan World.

After the opening matches of the miniature round-robin, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship tournament to crown new champions after Roppongi 3k (Sho/Yoh) vacated the title after Yoh’s knee surgery.

The marquee match sees the conclusion of the tournament as Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) members Hiromu Takahashi and former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Bushi take of Suzuki-Gun members face former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champions El Desperado/Yoshinobu Kanemaru, who were champions for 304 days between March 2018 – January 2019.

Desperado and Kanemaru used underhanded tactics to advance to the finals against the LIJ team on the 9th, setting up this rematch. Hiromu/Bushi are unlikely to fall for the same trick, meaning they may have the advantage going into the decision match.

The headline match is a rematch from the finals of the recent NEVER Openweight 6-Man Championship tournament.

The CHAOS v CHAOS match pits champions Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii, and Yoshi-Hashi against Kazuchika Okada, KOPW (seemingly King of Pro Wrestling) title hold Toru Yano, and Sho.

If the champions can find a way to neutralize former five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Okada, then they will likely be able to retain their title.

The third match sees IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ and Tetsuya Naito and his LIJ unit mates Sanada and Shingo Takagi face the Bullet Club team of Evil, Yujiro Takahashi, and Dick Togo.

The second match of the night sees the Hontai team of Golden Ace (Hiroshi Tanahashi/Kota Ibushi), Ryusuke Taguchi, and Master Wato face the Suzuki-Gun team of NEVER Openweight Champion Minoru Suzuki, IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Dangerous Tekkers (Zach Sabre Jr/Taichi), and Douki.

While the focus has turned to the G1 Climax 30, GoldenAce could put themselves in position for a future title match if they can capture a fall over a member of Dangerous Tekkers.

The first match sees two Hontai teams face off as Yuji Nagata, Satoshi Kojima, and Tomoaki Honma face NJPW Dojo Young Lion team of Gabriel Kidd (Los Angeles), Yuya Uemura (Noge), and Yota Tsuji (Noge).
