The Broken Skull Sessions are alway fountains of knowledge of past Legends with one of the best ones being the Undertake himself. Kurt Angle though might have just taken the top spot for most entertaining.
WIth great little bits of new information making it a must watch. Kurt Angle mentions that he was never business savvy and wishes he could have been. With the Rock and Stone Cold at their prime. He mentioned that he thought that the merchandise is a prime part of that but he couldn’t do that due to not having anything original except the ‘you suck’ catchphrase.
He also went to say that his original contract offered to him was $500,000 a year, a massive amount back then. After turning this down and joining later on he got an offer of $50,000 which he expected and that started him off and on his journey.
The sad truths.
There were obviously some dark areas of Kurt Angle’s career. One being his addiction to pills that are common knowledge if you followed his career. Although information about Eddie Guerrero is one of the more sad parts.
With Kurt expressing that Eddie looked very ill before his matches in 2004 not long before he passed. He was surprised when he went into matches full of energy but started to see that he was slowing down in the faster spots. This was what is obvious now due to his heart problems. Kurt also went over his retirement matches and the road to his retirement.
Saying that he would have wanted to have more of a Goldberg run. With him coming back to and having championship matches. This is pretty devastating due to the fact that Kurt Angle’s last match was against Baron Corbin and he also lost.
A return of a classic
The old segments with the cowboy hats with stone cold returned. With a story with WWE creative original wanting the cowboy hats back Kurt lied and said that he must have lost. He kept them as a memento of the times he had doing them segments.
This was a great blast from the past which any long time fan would have loved. It is said that Kurt Angle’s wrestling career did have a lot of lows.
Looking through his time there though, he has had a great career. He is still arguably one of the most underused wrestlers, through his career especially at the end but he will always live on as a true legend of wrestling.
