Last week on 205 Live, Tehuti Miles would fall of The Brian Kendrick, a 205 Live original. Following their match, Kendrick would tell Tehuti to study his mistakes, taking on a mentor role once again to a young talent. Tonight, Miles is back in action with Ariya Daivari across the ring from him. Has he learned from his mistakes?
No, He’s Just As Cocky As Ever
It takes more than one scolding to change Tehuti Miles, who even after the bell rang took his time to get his gear off. Daivari would quickly punch him in the face a few times, while calling him a rookie, and treating him like so. Miles got to play the babyface role in this one, and he’d hit a big back elbow before he’d bring the strikes in the corner. His early cockiness might have been a ploy, with him having a gameplan in this one.
He’d be sent to the outside and try to trip Daivari, only to be shoved into the announce table, losing his control. Daivari would rain down punches to the face of Miles, being as rough as expected. A big neckbreaker keeps Miles down, and a facelock would grind him down until Miles shoved him into the corner.
Ariya Daivari Shows His Experience
Miles would break the hold, only to be run through with a lariat from Daivari, and he’d be seeing stars in the WWE Thunderdome. Daivari would throw some chops, but Miles came back with a DDT and bounced back to his feet, getting his second wind. Miles would boot Daivari into the ropes and plant him with a spinebuster before going to the top rope.
Daivari would try to fight him off, but Miles would manage the flying nothing and hurt his knee before being dropped once again. Miles would play possum and try for a rollup, but Daivari kicked up. Daivari would look for the Hammerlock Lariat, and Miles might have dodged the first one, but after a superkick, Daivari would nail it and get a win.
Following the match, Daivari would extend a hand in respect, only to say ‘Sike’ and pull it away, clearly not cut from the same cloth as The Brian Kendrick. Miles continues to look better by the week, and despite being cocky, he worked great as a face in this match. Will Miles ever get this first win on 205 Live?
