Roman Reigns came out and Alexa headed up the ramp, and WWE Smackdown Results noticed she paused just behind them while Heyman watched her.
Reigns paid her little to no attention as he held the Universal Championship belt up. She headed to the back, and Reigns continued to the ring.
The Fiend definitely isn’t done with him yet.
In the ring, Reigns held the Universal Championship up once again before Heyman started to say it was time, and Jey Uso’s music interrupted him.
Jey came out looking intense, but Reigns looked pleased.
Reigns said he would give him the title if he could, but Jey wouldn’t know what to do with it. He doesn’t understand the accountability, the responsibility, or the pressure of being the face of the WWE.
He added it’s not Jey’s fault because he’s a twin, he’s done everything with his brother’s help.
Reigns pointed out he’d one half of the greatest tag team in history and the family is proud of him.
He added that he’s the one their family counts on and it’ll never be Jey because it’ll always be Reigns.
Why can’t it be me?
Reigns left the ring and Jey stayed there sulking as he thougt it over, then said, “What if you’re wrong?” Why can’t I be the one to provide for the family?”
He demanded to know why he can’t provide for his wife and children, Reign’s nephews.
He added that when they see Reigns, they call him Mr. main Event, Mr. WrestleMania.
When they see him, they ask “which one are you?”
Jey added that after Clash of Champions, they’ll know he’s the one that defeated Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.
As Jey reached the top of the ramp, Reigns leaped out and attacked him, laying him out with a Superman Punch.
Heyman handed him the belt, and Reigns screamed at Jey that he feeds their whole family with the title, and if Jey wants to take it, he’ll take the beating that comes with it.
He swore Jey will never take his title; will never take his place at the head of the table.
Looks like we’re into Godfather area now. It also feels like a McMahon family drama perhaps?
It’s a pretty cool angle to end what was a largely forgettable episode. WWE Smackdown Results think they needed something stronger heading into a pay-per-view, but that could be just us.
