Hello and welcome to Impact Wrestling Xplosion!
It doesn’t look like there’s an interview this week, so we’re curious to see what’s going to fill that space.
Nothing like some tag team action to get things started, and here we go. Xplosion has been giving us a glimpse into younger talent, so this should be a pretty good one.
Reno Scum (Luster the Legend and Adam Thornstowe) defeated Wolvertin and Mims by pinfall
Mims didn’t stand much of a chance as Luster and Adam gained the upper hand early on, but he fought back and caught Adam off the turnbuckle in a bearhug to tag Wolvertin in.
Wolvertin had an advantage for a bit, but Reno Scum turned it around.
This was clearly a squash match, but it followed the new formula Impact and AEW use to lift the Indie wrestlers up.
Unlike in AEW, Reno Scum dominated this match aside from a couple of flourishes by Wolvertin and Mims. Still, it was a pretty entertaining match and Wolvertin and Mims put on a good showing.
Impact Classis Match – Bound For Glory 2007 TNA World Heavyweight Championship – Sting defeated Kurt Angle (c)
Okay to start off some of the signs the fans had were awesome with the one reading, “Angle Fears Hair” being the best of the lot.
Few things are better than seeing a couple of legends face off at the biggest event for Impact Wrestling, but knowing the storyline just adds so much to it.
Seeing Sting remain so calm and methodical while fighting through Angle and Kevin Nash throughout brought back so many fond memories.
This had a bit of everything for everyone from story angles to execution.
What was really awesome is we got to see a majority of this match since there weren’t any interviews this week, and that was an added treat we didn’t expect.
This is a great way to continue building for Bound For Glory pay-per-view on October 24.
As always, they closed the show with Impact Wrestling’s main event with The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) defeating Ace Austin and Madman Fulton.
You can find the match recap here.
