Moments After The Marquee Of NEVER Night 1 Began During The October 16, 2020 Episode via New Japan World

The marquee match of the NEVER Night 1 tour October 17, 2020 episode of New Japan (New Japan Pro Wrestling) Strong saw former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion David Finlay team with former NEVER Openweight Champion Jeff Cobb against the Bullet Club team of former NEVER Openweight Champion/New Japan Cup 2020 USA winner Kenta and Chase Owens.

The Bullet Club team began the match quickly, Kenta wanting to take advantage of Cobb and Finlay’s desire to win the V3 IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship challenge of Jon Moxley’s second reign with the title from him.

Cobb was able to gain the fall for his team at the 9 minutes and 44 seconds mark with his Tour of the Islands technique.

The headline match saw Ring of Honor (ROH) competitor PJ Black wrestle the impressive young junior heavyweight, Alex Zayne. In a back and forward match full of athleticism and encounters, Black was able to gain the fall at the 10 minutes and 21 seconds mark with the Bad Habit.

The second match of the evening saw NJPW Noge Dojo graduate Bullet Club member “Young Gun” Hikuelo face Original NJPW Los Angeles (LA) Dojo graduate TJP.

In an interesting match showcasing the controversial veteran TJP’s savvy, he was able to use his experience to throw the young heavyweight off balance.

However, the junior heavyweight didn’t have enough in his offense after working over the shoulder of Hikuleo to put him away. He was able to gain the fall at the 8 minutes and 24 seconds mark with his Gunslinger technique.

The opening match saw New Japan of America (NJoA) heavyweight Misterioso compete against Danny Limelight who was coming of a Lion’s Break Crown 2020 Finals defeat to NJPW LA Dojo Young Lion, Clark Connors.

The back and forth match was high paced, with Misterioso not going away from his modern Lucha Libre techniques, attempting to match speed with the junior heavyweight Limelight.

Eventually, Misterioso was able to get the victory with his MSO technique at the 6 minutes and 10 seconds mark.
