Can you smell what The Rock is cooking? Clearly everyone in Hollywood can! And while there’s no doubt that The Rock has definitely made his mark in the entertainment industry, a lot of his fans still can’t forget his time in the spotlight as a WWE star. As a matter of fact, The Rock – or Dwayne Johnson as he is better known in the celebrity world these days – had nothing but great things to say about his former foe in the ring, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Here’s what he had to say.
Posting a video of Steve talking about The Rock on People TV, the actor wrote, “Appreciate the kind words from the toughest SOB I’ve ever danced with. When you think about who belongs on the Mount Rushmore of pro-wrestling, @steveaustinbsr is the first one I carve in that mountain. He was my mentor, great friend and helped me develop my “ring psychology” which is critical to master if you want to draw money in the wrestling business.”
The Rock Shares His Thoughts On Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Rock added, “Our @wwe feuds became legendary and our chemistry was incomparable.
Thanks for takin’ this punk kid under your wing and showing him the ropes to greatness – and sexy bald heads. Congrats on your new show, #StraightUpSteveAustin! Looking forward to watching it.
Duck my clothesline, hit me with your Stunner, 1-2-3- let’s go home, brother. #austin316.”
It appears as though a lot of fans agreed with The Rock’s sentiments as they posted comments such as, “The best era of all time, so many greats all at one time,” along with, “This is amazing. My two favorite pro wrestlers when I was a kid watching WWF. And by the way Stone Cold has not even aged.”
Another fan wrote, “Aww… you guys were a great part of my childhood. And so proud of you, Dwayne, for all your accomplishments. Hobbs and Shaw was the first movie I’ve actually paid money to see since Black Panther bc I HAD to support. So happy for you man, I can’t even tell.”
