The opening night of the WWE Draft takes place this evening, and there will be high hopes from fans as they hope that the brands of both Raw and SmackDown are shaken up to give some much-needed freshness. There are reportedly 60 superstars included in the draft, and SmackDown will get to make their selections first. But, which superstars could we see make the transition over to the blue brand as the WWE Draft gets underway this evening?
WWE News: Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens is already appearing in a match on SmackDown this evening, as he will be going one-on-one with The Fiend. However, that could mean that he could be drafted to SmackDown. Owens was given very little to do on Raw, and has been involved in a storyline with Aleister Black most recently. He could certainly benefit from being moved over to SmackDown, as there are a number of rivalries that he could get engaged in.
WWE News: Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe hasn’t wrestled in the WWE for a while now, but his return to action has been rumoured for a couple of weeks. The night of his return could soon be upon us, and he could make his long-awaited return on SmackDown during the draft.
It would be a move that would make a lot of sense, as he would also present a possible opponent to Roman Reigns once the Big Dog has beaten Jey Uso at the upcoming Hell in a Cell PPV. A programme with Joe would also enable WWE to continue with the same Tribal Chief storyline that they have been doing with Reigns.
WWE News: Seth Rollins
The Seth Rollins feud with the Mysterio’s has been going on long enough now, and the Monday Night Messiah may look to move to Friday night’s to cleanse some more souls. The change would be a good thing for Rollins as there will be a number of interesting programmes that he could get involved in on the blue brand.
There will also be interest in seeing Reigns and Rollins back on the same show, as they could make a formidable team and dominant SmackDown. It would make sense for the WWE to put either Rollins or the Mysterio’s on SmackDown to just freshen up the current landscape of stories.
