There is one man on the MLW roster who they might have a hard time keeping hold of. As #TheRestart comes closer, Davey Boy Smith Jr. is looking to take the MLW Championship from Jacob Fatu. However, if he’s not successful, his MLW contract might be coming to a close soon, and he’s gotten high interest from all corners of the wrestling world.
Everyone From WWE To All Japan Pro Wrestling Want Davey Boy Smith Jr.
His run in MLW has shown just how much of a multi-tool player that he is. Working with Brian Pillman Jr. and Teddy Hart let him show his charisma. Everyone already knew he was a powerhouse beyond belief, it’s in his blood. His technical skills shone through in his recent Bloodsport fight with Josh Alexander. He’s more of a total package than ever before, and this is after having won tag team gold all around the world.
With him finally hitting his stride, and his contract coming to an end, it was no shock when Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer announced that there has been interest from WWE, AEW, Impact Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling, and of course MLW.
Smith has stated that he has no favorite choice at this time, and will make his choice based on which offer is the best, and which makes the most sense for him at the time.
Plenty Of Friends In AEW
When it comes down to it, the choice might be easy. If AEW gives him a good offer, that’s where two former tag team partners dwell, both Lance Archer & Brian Pillman Jr. being on the roster, though Pillman Jr. is still waiting for his MLW release.
Archer might be more keen on staying solo, but after failing to win both the AEW & TNT Championships this year, it might be time to reunite Killer Elite Squad. It would give Archer even more people to beat up!
Smith is also very good friends with Chris Jericho, which is also a great in with AEW.
Business With WWE Is Waiting
On the other hand, Davey Boy Smith Jr. has some business to take care of in WWE. While the Hall of Fame ceremony was postponed for this year, his father is going to be put in finally, and he was to be the one to induct him. Smith showed up on The Bump earlier this year as well, and is a former WWE Unified Tag Team Champion alongside Tyson Kidd.
Where do you hope to see Davey Boy Smith Jr. show up? Will he beat Jacob Fatu for the MLW Championship and stick around there? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
