Last week, we saw a wild hardcore brawl of a main event, all over the NXT UK Women’s Championship. Piper Niven & Kay Lee Ray tore each other apart, and brawled through the BT Sports Studio. However, it was a steel chair attack from Jinny at the end of the match, one that sent both women flying through a table that ended the match.
It’s clear that Jinny really wants to be champion, and will stop at nothing to achieve this. Tonight, she has another chance to prove how good she is, as she steps into the ring with Isla Dawn. Has The White Witch learned any new spells since her last match?
Isla Dawn Shows Some Extra Aggression
Dawn would grab a headlock early, and wanted to control the pace of the match. A grab of the hair would allow Jinny to get control briefly. She’d be dropped by Dawn, who used her hard kicks and hit a big kneedrop to the chest. Her kicks are her best asset, and she’s aggressive with them in this one, a bit too aggressive really, as she misses one and Jinny was able to quickly recover and hit a rolling wheel kick of her own.
Jinny was able to now take control and stomp Dawn into the corner. She’d yell at Dawn to ask if she really thinks she belongs in the ring with Jinny, before applying the Iron Octopus, with Dawn just barely making the ropes to break the hold. Even when the hold was broken, Jinny would claw at the arm of Dawn and roll her back into the middle of the ring for another submission.
This time Dawn was trapped in a camel clutch, but Jinny shifted into a pinfall attempt for two. Some heavy forearms would allow Jinny to get the arm of Dawn, and she’d just kick her in the side of the face. Dawn responded once free with a kick to the face of Jinny. She’d try to cave the chest of Jinny in with some heavy kicks, a running knee strike and the double knees after rolling Jinny into the middle of the ring.
Jinny Forces Dawn Down
A backdrop driver would get a two count, but Jinny would come back quick by pulling Dawn’s face into her knee. Jinny would rush into the corner where Dawn was resting, before getting trapped in the Tarantula, suffering in the ropes for the duration of the four count.
Dawn climbed up to the top rope, but Jinny rushed her and forced her to leap off over her. She’d land rough, take a kick to the head and be forced into another submission. The modified STF would force Dawn to tap out, and Jinny moves one step closer to her goal.
This was as good as either of these women ever looked in NXT UK, finally showing their true potential. After the match, Jinny would call out Piper Niven, saying she hopes she enjoyed watching that match from hospital.
