WWE NXT Preview For 11/18/2020 [Rhea Ripley vs. Io Shirai, Finn Balor is Back!]

It’s time for another installment of WWE NXT, and tonight could be home to one of the best matches of the year. NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai puts the belt on the line against Rhea Ripley, and that’s only the tip of tonight’s iceberg. Let’s not waste any time, and break down tonight’s announced matches.

Io Shirai vs. Rhea Ripley

Ever since losing to Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania earlier this year, Rhea Ripley has wanted her title back. This made her being pinned by Io Shirai at NXT Takeover: In Your House sting so much more. But, she’s built herself back up, taken down badasses like Mercedes Martinez & Raquel Gonzalez, and now has her chance at redemption.

Shirai hasn’t been napping at the top since becoming champion however, having defended against Candice LeRae twice, Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai. She even beat current Smackdown Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks in a non-title match. This is perhaps the biggest match that the NXT Women’s division had, and who knows what could be next if Ripley loses.

NXT Champion Finn Balor Is Back

In one of the best matches of the year, Finn Balor retained the NXT Championship against Kyle O’Reilly at NXT Takeover 31. During this match, he would break his jaw and suffer oral lacerations, and hasn’t been in the ring since. Tonight, he returns and lets everyone know what’s next for The Prince. He is set to return to the ring very soon, so we could see someone take this chance to set themselves up for a future title shot.

Johnny Gargano Wants His NXT North American Championship Back!

Wheels are the bugbear of the now former NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano. He rigged one last week to land on Leon Ruff, thinking that would be an easy first title defense for him, perhaps letting him break his curse with singles titles. Instead, the rookie would become the new NXT North American Champion in the biggest upset in NXT history. Tonight, Gargano has been granted a chance to redeem this loss, and perhaps become a three time North American Champion.

Also announced for tonight is Toni Storm & Ember Moon taking on Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez, as well as Cameron Grimes vs. Dexter Lumis in a Blindfold Match. What are you most looking forward to tonight? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
