Last week on AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho & Jake Hager defeated SCU in a solid tag team match, but the real fun came after. MJF was crucial in the victory, punching Frankie Kazarian in the face with the Dynamite Diamond Ring. So naturally, after the match Kazarian would deck MJF, and that brings us to this match. Jericho wants vengeance for his new ally, and Kazarian wants to be able to say he beat Chris Jericho. He’s on a three match singles win streak, so anything is possible right now.
Frankie Kazarian Takes Chris Jericho By Surprise
Chris Jericho would be taken to the mat to start this match, but was quick to his feet. They’d be slow with starting the lockup again, and Kazarian would throw his elbow pad at Jericho. He’d trip Jericho into the ropes, fling himself over the ropes and slap the taste out of ‘Le Champions mouth.
Jericho would get some revenge after a shoulder tackle, with a sly eye poke to Kazarian. Kazarian was sent off the ropes and hit with a dropkick, but came back and threw Jericho over the top rope. The slingshot leg drop would be hit, and now on the outside, Jake Hager rushed like a bull with lariats.
Jericho would slip in first, and get the Codebreaker through the ropes on Kazarian, fully taking control. He’d throw Kazarian to the outside, and The Inner Circle would help Jericho gain some ground, and back in the ring Jericho nailed a big lariat. Kazarian was hung up to dry over the top rope, and again behind the referees’ back, Hager & Ortiz attacked.
The Inner Circle Aren’t Okay
More strikes from Jericho let him move to the middle rope for a double axe handle, but Kazarian countered with a punch to the gut. Jericho came back with a delayed vertical suplex, before hitting some big chops. Kazarian would counter the running bulldog into a backflip, and hit some running lariats to get back into this one.
Jericho put the brakes on before a front dropkick and tried for the Lionsault, but got the knees before Kazarian hit a springboard leg drop. Kazarian placed Jericho up top, and went for the Flux Capacitor, getting a two count. He’s pulling deep into his playbook for this big match.
Jericho would go for another Codebreaker, and was caught. Kazarian applied The Walls Of Jericho on Jericho, and MJF came to ringside and wanted to throw the towel in. Sammy Guevara stopped him, and Jericho spotted Guevara with the towel. A few rollup attempts from Kazarian only got as far as two, before a lucky Judas Effect ended the match.
It’s clear The Inner Circle aren’t as steady as they look, with Guevara & MJF fighting. Jericho is pissed, and if they don’t get along within seven days, he’s breaking this faction up. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
