At one point in WWE, it felt like Andrade was the man they were looking for. Ever since the death of Eddie Guerrero, they’ve been looking for that one big hispanic star to take his place. While Rey Mysterio would come and go from the company, they tried out other names like Alberto Del Rio, Sin Cara, Kalisto and more. None of them connected like they had hoped, and then Andrade came along.
He started out rough, but once he was paired with Zelina Vega in NXT and became the NXT Champion by defeating Drew McIntyre? Everything clicked. Suddenly he was going out and having five star matches with Johnny Gargano and Aleister Black, showing charisma for days, and showed the same level of skill from his days behind the mask of La Sombra. That success would barely follow him from NXT to Smackdown & RAW, and now Zelina Vega is gone from the company. Can WWE rebuild him back to this level once he’s back from injury?
Professional Wrestling Means Everything To Andrade
Some men were just born to be professional wrestlers, and Andrade is one of those men. He’s a third generation wrestler, following in the footsteps of his grandfather Jose Andrade Estrada (aka El Moro) who helped bring the world ten kids, and seven luchadors from that batch. From there, Andrade’s father & uncles would give their lives to the craft, and he would gladly follow. He knew the sacrifices that came with this business all too well, but it’s all to push the Moro Family name forward.
He has been able to make it WWE, and that is huge in it’s own right. While things haven’t worked out perfectly yet, the passion is there. He just needs the chance to shine once again.
WWE Could Bring A Lucha Libre Flair To The Ring
While Andrade comes from a storied wrestling family in his home country of Mexico, he’s also now involved with a legendary name from American wrestling side of the coin. He’s engaged to Charlotte Flair, daughter of Ric Flair. This is a connection WWE has yet to properly use on WWE TV, as he was busy doing his own thing and teaming with Angel Garza.
When he returns, just putting Ric Flair as his manager, giving him a fancy robe and a modified Figure Four Leg Lock? You’d see his stock skyrocket, as he could merge the two legacies into one dangerous style. Add Charlotte Flair into the mix, and they could be the power couple of WWE in 2021.
