When AEW went off the air this past Wednesday, Kenny Omega was running off with Impact Wrestling co-executive vice president Don Callis. When questioned by Alex Marvez, Callis said that if fans want answers, they’ll tune into Impact Wrestling on Tuesday. This is the start of a partnership between AEW & Impact Wrestling, and that opens the door for many very interesting matches. Here are a few matches that could thrill fans in the coming months.
AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks Have A Chance To Face Their First Major Rivals Again
Back in 2009, a team called Generation Me was signed to TNA Wrestling, and they were ready to change the game. Their first big feud, the one that brought them to the spotlight was against The Motor City Machine Guns, and their matches still hold up today. These two teams would clash many times, from TNA to ROH to NJPW, with their last clash being in 2017.
Now, The Young Bucks are perhaps better than they’ve ever been, and Motor City Machine Guns recently got back together after a brief hiatus. Fans won’t say no to another match between these teams, and we can see just how far they’ve come once again.
Jon Moxley Can Catch Up With The Callihan Death Machine
Jon Moxley is no longer AEW World Champion, but that doesn’t mean he’ll stop fighting. It’s easy to predict that Moxley won’t have an easy time getting his hands on Kenny Omega until AEW Revolution or later, so he’ll need some new opponents in the meantime. Or maybe, an old opponent and friend.
The afternoon after AEW aired, Sami Callihan took to twitter to send the following message. “After what happened last night, someone tell Jon Moxley we have some unfinished business.” Back in his CZW days, Jon Moxley & Sami Callihan were both members of Switchblade Conspiracy with Joe Gacy, but also had some bloody battles over the CZW Heavyweight Championship. The feud between Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston was great, and this could be just as grand.
FTR Want The North
Finally, we have a match fans have been hungry for ever since FTR left WWE earlier this year. While the above two matches have happened before, FTR have never faced The North. They are possibly the two best tag teams of 2020, with The North having dominated the Impact Wrestling tag team division, while FTR swept through the ranks of AEW.
Dax Harwood wasted no time calling The North out, and Ethan Page was just as quick to say they’re ready. This is the most likely match of the bunch, with both parties having waited for this exact moment to come.
