When A-Kid signed with WWE, many felt it killed his hype. He was having five star classics with the likes of Zack Sabre Jr. & Ricochet in his home of Spain for White Wolf Wrestling, only to quiet off in NXT UK. However, he refused to be lost in the shuffle.
He is now the first ever NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion, having beaten Trent Seven in the finals of the tournament, and even defended against none other than Tyler Bate. A-Kid is the best at British Rounds matches, but can he go higher?
A-Kid Has Had A Great Few Months
After his win last week over Tyler Bate, he got some microphone time. He’d say that him being the first ever winner of the Heritage Cup is not only good for his legacy, but that of Spain. These past months have been amazing, he’s beaten some of the best in the world, even his mentor. The last thing Bate taught A-Kid was that he belongs with the best.
This makes his next step very clear. He wants to prove that he doesn’t just belong with the best, he wants to be the best. A-Kid wants to be the measuring stick for NXT UK, the standard bearer. There is only one way to do that, and he’s ready for the risks and challenges provided.
Here’s The Next Challenger For WALTER
To be the best, you need to beat the best. A-Kid has laid down a challenge to the NXT UK Champion himself, WALTER. WALTER isn’t one for talking, more letting his actions speak for him, but he had a message for A-Kid. The next time A-Kid steps into WALTER’s ring, he should make sure to wipe his dirty feet on the ring apron.
WALTER was impressed by A-Kid in the Heritage Cup tournament, he showed technical ability and fire. He sees the pride A-Kid carries, but how dare he stand in this ring and pretend he represents the heritage of this sport. A-Kid isn’t WALTER, he’s nothing special.
Just like everybody else who steps into the ring with WALTER, this fairytale story will end, and WALTER will remain champion. This match is official, and just needs a date.
