There was an enjoyable evening of wrestling on Raw last night, with a number of the biggest programmes continuing. Fans were treated to two big returns during the show, as Charlotte Flair made her long awaited return to Raw, while Alexa Bliss also appeared towards the end of the show to confront Randy Orton after he set The Fiend on fire at TLC. But, what could the changing landscape mean for Raw going forward.
WWE Raw: Charlotte Flair To Turn On Asuka
Charlotte Flair returned at TLC to help Asuka win the Tag Team Championships. It was a much-needed change to the title picture, as Shayna Baszler and Nia Jaxx’s reign had grown tiresome. Flair stepped in at the last minute to replace Lana, who was forced to pull out through injury.
It was something that certainly made sense as Flair herself had unfinished business with Jaxx. However, the union between Asuka and Flair isn’t expected to last for too long you wouldn’t have thought, since Flair will be targeting a bigger prize than the tag team gold. That could lead to an Asuka vs Flair match at Mania next year, with Flair turning heel in the build-up.
WWE Raw: WWE Championship Triple Threat Taking Shape
The WWE Championship picture has been brilliantly bizarre over the last couple of weeks, and that looks set to continue judging from the chaotic main event that we saw on Raw last night. Sheamus ended the segment by delivering a brogue kick to Keith Lee, which is likely going to lead to a match between the two.
It has been teased that McIntyre is set to defend his championship against Brock Lesnar and Lee at Mania this year, but at present there looks more of a story to tell between the there men that were involved in the six-man tag match on Raw last night.
WWE Raw: Fiend vs Orton To Continue
The final segment of the night saw Randy Orton coming out to boast about his victory over The Fiend at TLC. Orton set the creepy character on fire to win the match, and declared that The Fiend was no more. However, his persona soon changed after the lights went out.
However, he was greeted by the returning Alexa Bliss, who claimed that The Fiend will be back and Orton will be made to pay. It’s fair to say that this was the hottest promo of the night, and it promises to be must-see when The Fiend makes his long-awaited return.
