Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Results! It looks like we’re going to have a fun night tonight as the march to TLC continues.
Plus, there’s a good chance that Roman Reigns will punish Jey Uso for failing to defeat Kevin Owens last week and we’ll move closer to an Owens and Reigns Universal Championship match at TLC.
Let’s get to the action.
The show opened with a tribute and ten bell salute to Pat Patterson, who passed away earlier this week at the age of 79. Sgt. Slaughter, Gerry Briscoe, Triple H, and Vince McMahon were present along with current superstars on the stage to pay their respects.
Thank you for the memories, sir. Rest in peace.
After the opening graphic, we were sent to the ring where Kayla Braxton welcomed us to Friday Night Smackdown where she introduced Roman Reigns.
She also announced he’ll team with Jey Uso to face Otis and Kevin Owens later tonight.
Reigns came out with Jey and Paul Heyman behind him. Reigns looked his usual arrogant self while Jey looked uncertain as they entered the ring.
Kayla held the mic to Reigns, and he told her he needs to be introduced properly, which Paul Heyman then did.
Kayla apologized and mentioned his comments to Jey last week and then asked what happened. A video recap followed of Reigns’ belittling him and Jey assaulting Otis and Daniel Bryan followed.
It concluded with Owens telling Reigns off and then Jey’s loss to Owens later that night followed by Owens dismantling him and calling out Reigns.
Back in the ring, Kayla pointed out that Owens doesn’t fear him, and asked it he fears Owens after he avoided confrontation with him.
Reigns scoffed and said this is the biggest thing Kayla’s ever done in her career, and she decided to ask him a stupid question.
He pointed out that Michael Cole could’ve done the interview and she blew her chance with a stupid question.
She then asked something the WWE Universe has been allegedly asking, and that’s is it a possibility that he’s using Jey as a pawn and manipulating him.
Reigns commented back that those are stupid words for stupid people. He added he’s a protector and provider as the Head of the Table.
He mentioned what Jey has done the last two months and challenged her for not doing her homework and blowing it on both of her questions.
Heyman then answered the answer to the rhetorical question that the ratings surge have been on the highest surge for the program in 2020.
Owens has his say
He added that Reigns is a motivator and was then cut off by Kevin Owens’ music.
Owens came out and said that he made it clear he doesn’t fear him, and since Reigns said he doesn’t fear him, he wants to settle things right here and now.
Owens climbed into the ring and Reigns motioned for the microphone, but Jey took it and told Owens they run this show while Heyman looks horrified and Reigns burned a hole through his cousin.
Oblivious, Jey continued that they accept, and Owens said he wasn’t talking to the bus boy; he was talking to the head of the table.
Owens added that if not now, how about TLC. He added they should make it a title match with a tables, ladders, and chairs match.
WWE Smackdown Results aren’t going to brag, but this seemed like a forgone conclusion. What do you all think?
Owens offered to hold the match right there, and Reigns said this would eb the highlight of Owens’ career.
He added that he trained his cousin well and that he accepted the challenge as the head of the table.
He said there’s a time and a place for everything, and he’s not a savage and told Owens to grow up and they left Owens standing in the ring.
Owens called for them to cut his music and told Reigns he’ll grow up when Reigns grows some balls because it’s evident he’s just a b—-. Reigns laughed it off and continued to the back.
